This Privacy Policy explains how Tyler Pond, carrying on business as ReceiptKit (“ReceiptKit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and otherwise processes personal information when you visit the ReceiptKit website or use the ReceiptKit application, software, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with ReceiptKit and which features you use.
Account Information
When you create or use a ReceiptKit account, we may collect information such as:
- your name, if provided;
- email address;
- account identifiers;
- authentication-related information; and
- account preferences.
If you sign in using a third-party authentication provider, we may receive basic account information from that provider according to the permissions associated with your sign-in.
Receipt and User Content
When you use ReceiptKit, you may enter, upload, create, store, or otherwise provide receipts, documents, images, files, transaction details, and other information (“User Content”).
Depending on what you provide, this content may contain information such as:
- merchant or vendor names;
- dates of purchases or transactions;
- transaction amounts;
- currencies;
- taxes;
- descriptions of goods or services;
- receipt or invoice identifiers;
- notes, categories, or other information you add; and
- other information appearing on receipts, documents, or records you submit.
You control the information you submit to ReceiptKit.
Please avoid submitting personal or sensitive information that is not reasonably necessary for your use of the Service.
Payment and Subscription Information
If you purchase a paid ReceiptKit plan, your transaction is processed through Creem, which acts as Merchant of Record.
Creem may collect information necessary to complete and administer your transaction, including information such as:
- your name;
- email address;
- billing details;
- payment information;
- billing location;
- tax-related information; and
- transaction information.
ReceiptKit may receive limited information from Creem relating to your purchase, such as:
- your customer or transaction identifier;
- the plan or product purchased;
- subscription status;
- payment status;
- renewal or cancellation status; and
- limited customer or billing information necessary to provide the Service and customer support.
ReceiptKit does not receive or store your complete payment card number when your payment information is entered through Creem’s checkout.
Creem processes payment-related information according to its own privacy policy and terms.
Communications
If you contact us for customer support, privacy matters, legal inquiries, feedback, or another reason, we may collect:
- your email address;
- your name, if provided;
- the contents of your message;
- information relating to your ReceiptKit account; and
- any other information you choose to provide.
Usage and Technical Information
When you visit or use ReceiptKit, we or our service providers may automatically receive technical or usage information such as:
- IP address;
- browser type and version;
- device type;
- operating system;
- referring or exit pages;
- pages and features accessed;
- dates and times of access;
- approximate geographic region derived from an IP address;
- diagnostic and error information; and
- information about interactions with the Service.
We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, understand, and improve ReceiptKit.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
ReceiptKit may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary to provide and operate the Service.
These technologies may be used to:
- keep you signed in;
- maintain sessions;
- remember preferences;
- protect account and application security;
- prevent abuse; and
- understand and improve the operation of ReceiptKit.
If we use non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar tracking technologies for which consent is required under applicable law, we will provide any notices or consent mechanisms required by that law.
You can also control certain browser storage and cookie settings through your browser.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and operate ReceiptKit;
- create and manage accounts;
- authenticate users;
- process and manage subscriptions;
- enable receipt and document-related features;
- store, retrieve, process, and display User Content;
- send transactional and service-related emails, including signup, verification, account, billing, security, and support communications;
- respond to customer support requests;
- respond to privacy and legal inquiries;
- communicate important account, billing, security, or service information;
- diagnose errors and technical problems;
- monitor performance and reliability;
- understand how ReceiptKit is used;
- improve existing features and develop new ones;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- protect the security and integrity of ReceiptKit;
- enforce our Terms of Service;
- comply with applicable law; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where permitted by law, we may also send information about new ReceiptKit features or product updates.
If we introduce marketing communications that require consent, we will obtain that consent and provide an appropriate way to unsubscribe.
4. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.
We may disclose personal information in the circumstances described below.
Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to help operate ReceiptKit. These providers may process personal information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.
Our primary service providers include:
- Cloudflare, which provides hosting, application infrastructure, database, networking, security, and email-routing services used to operate ReceiptKit;
- Resend, which we use to send transactional emails such as signup, verification, account, security, and other service-related messages; and
- Creem, which acts as Merchant of Record for purchases and provides payment and subscription-related services.
Information processed through ReceiptKit may therefore be transmitted to, processed by, or stored using these providers as necessary to operate the Service.
ReceiptKit uses Cloudflare services, including Cloudflare D1, to operate backend functionality and store application data. Cloudflare D1 is a managed database service provided by Cloudflare.
When we send transactional emails using Resend, information such as your email address and the contents and technical details of the email may be processed by Resend for the purpose of delivering and managing that message.
These providers process information subject to their applicable contractual, security, and privacy obligations.
Creem and Payment Services
Purchases of ReceiptKit are processed by Creem as Merchant of Record.
Information necessary to process a transaction, calculate applicable taxes, administer subscriptions, prevent fraud, issue invoices, process refunds, or handle chargebacks may be processed by Creem and its payment partners.
When purchasing through Creem, your payment transaction is subject to Creem’s own terms and privacy practices.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other lawful process;
- respond to a lawful governmental request;
- investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
- enforce our agreements or policies;
- protect the rights, property, security, or safety of ReceiptKit, our users, or others; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business Transactions
If ReceiptKit or the business operating ReceiptKit is involved in a potential or completed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with that transaction, subject to applicable law.
5. User Content
ReceiptKit processes User Content in order to provide the features you request.
We do not claim ownership of your User Content.
We may access or process User Content as reasonably necessary to:
- provide requested functionality;
- troubleshoot problems;
- protect the security of the Service;
- comply with applicable law; or
- respond to a support request you initiate.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate legal basis or permission to upload information relating to other people.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:
- provide ReceiptKit;
- maintain your account;
- maintain legitimate business and transaction records;
- provide customer support;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- resolve disputes; and
- enforce our agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is held.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete or anonymize it, subject to backup systems, technical limitations, and legal retention requirements.
7. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your ReceiptKit account and associated personal information by contacting [email protected].
We will delete or anonymize information associated with your account where required and reasonably possible, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
Information retained in backups may remain until those backups are overwritten or deleted through our normal retention cycle.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
We also rely on third-party infrastructure and service providers, including Cloudflare and Resend, to provide portions of the technical infrastructure used to operate ReceiptKit.
However, no internet service, computer system, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for using appropriate security practices when accessing your ReceiptKit account.
9. International Processing
ReceiptKit is operated from Ontario, Canada, but some of our service providers may process or store information in other countries, including the United States and other jurisdictions.
For example, we use Cloudflare for hosting, backend infrastructure, database services, networking, security, and email routing, and we use Resend to deliver transactional emails.
As a result, personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in jurisdictions outside your province, territory, or country of residence.
Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement authorities, or governmental authorities where permitted by applicable law.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will use appropriate contractual or other safeguards.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information.
These may include the right to:
- request access to personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- withdraw consent where processing depends on consent;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a portable copy of certain personal information; and
- complain to an applicable privacy or data protection authority.

ReceiptKit is operated from Ontario, Canada.
If you are located in Canada, applicable federal or provincial privacy legislation may give you rights concerning access to, correction of, and the manner in which your personal information is collected, used, or disclosed.

12. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Similar Jurisdictions
Where laws such as the European Union or United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation apply, our legal bases for processing personal information may include:
- Performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to provide ReceiptKit to you;
- Legitimate interests, where processing is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve ReceiptKit and those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Consent, where you have provided consent for a specific purpose; and
- Legal obligations, where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent.
You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority responsible for your jurisdiction.
13. United States Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws.
Depending on the law applicable to you, those rights may include the ability to request:
- access to personal information;
- correction;
- deletion;
- data portability; and
- information regarding certain disclosures or uses of personal information.
ReceiptKit does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
If our practices change in a manner that creates additional legally required disclosures or opt-out rights, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any mechanisms required by applicable law.
14. Children’s Privacy
ReceiptKit is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If applicable law in a particular jurisdiction requires a higher minimum age for the use of an online service without parental authorization, that higher minimum age applies.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to ReceiptKit inappropriately, contact [email protected] and we will investigate and take appropriate action.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
ReceiptKit may contain links to or integrate with websites and services operated independently by third parties.
Their handling of personal information is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
ReceiptKit is not responsible for the privacy practices of independently operated third-party services.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as ReceiptKit, our service providers, or applicable legal requirements change.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page.
If a change materially affects the way we process personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
