Terms of Service
Effective date: August 16, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ReceiptKit, including the ReceiptKit website, application, software, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
ReceiptKit is operated by Tyler Pond, carrying on business as ReceiptKit (“ReceiptKit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or purchasing a paid plan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
1. About ReceiptKit
ReceiptKit provides software designed to help users create, manage, organize, and work with receipts and related records.
ReceiptKit is a productivity tool. It is not an accounting, tax, legal, financial, or auditing service, and information produced or stored through ReceiptKit should not be treated as professional advice.
You are responsible for reviewing the accuracy and suitability of information created, entered, imported, exported, or otherwise processed using the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use ReceiptKit.
If you use ReceiptKit on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, references to “you” include that entity.
3. Your Account
Certain features of ReceiptKit may require an account.
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- maintaining the security of your login credentials;
- restricting unauthorized access to your account; and
- all activity conducted through your account.
Please notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without authorization.
4. Your Content
ReceiptKit may allow you to enter, upload, create, store, process, or export information, documents, receipt details, images, files, or other content (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant ReceiptKit a limited, non-exclusive right to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and otherwise use your User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, improve, and provide the Service to you.
You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit User Content to ReceiptKit and that your use of that content does not violate applicable law or the rights of another person.
You are responsible for retaining any independent copies or backups that you require for accounting, tax, regulatory, reimbursement, or other recordkeeping purposes.
5. Accuracy of Information
ReceiptKit may assist with creating, organizing, or processing receipt-related information. Software-generated, imported, calculated, extracted, categorized, or otherwise processed information may occasionally contain errors.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying information before relying on it, sharing it with another person, submitting it to an employer or customer, or using it for accounting, tax, reimbursement, regulatory, or legal purposes.
ReceiptKit does not guarantee that any receipt, record, calculation, categorization, export, or other output will satisfy the requirements of a particular tax authority, accountant, employer, customer, regulator, or jurisdiction.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use ReceiptKit to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of another person;
- create, upload, distribute, or use fraudulent, deceptive, forged, or misleading receipts or documents;
- misrepresent transactions, purchases, expenses, payments, or business records;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or another user’s account;
- interfere with or disrupt the security or operation of the Service;
- introduce malware, malicious code, or other harmful technology;
- scrape, crawl, or access the Service through unauthorized automated means;
- reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- circumvent limits or access controls imposed by the Service; or
- use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair ReceiptKit or its infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
7. Paid Plans and Billing
ReceiptKit may offer free and paid features, subscriptions, or other purchases.
Prices, billing periods, included features, and applicable limits are displayed before you complete a purchase.
Payments for ReceiptKit are processed through Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record for purchases made through its checkout.
For transactions processed through Creem, Creem is responsible for the payment transaction and may handle payment processing, applicable indirect taxes, invoicing, refunds, and chargebacks in accordance with its terms and policies.
When you purchase a ReceiptKit plan, you may therefore be entering into a transaction with Creem as the Merchant of Record while ReceiptKit provides the underlying software service.
ReceiptKit may receive information from Creem relating to your purchase, subscription, payment status, and customer account, but we do not receive or store your complete payment card details.
By completing a purchase, you agree to any additional terms presented by Creem during checkout.
8. Subscriptions and Renewal
If you purchase a recurring subscription, your subscription will renew automatically at the applicable billing interval unless you cancel it before the next renewal date.
The price and billing frequency applicable to your subscription will be displayed before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated or required by law, cancellation stops future renewals but does not terminate access for a subscription period that has already been paid for.
You may manage or cancel your subscription through the billing controls made available to you or by contacting [email protected].
9. Refunds
Refund requests are handled subject to the refund terms presented at checkout, Creem’s applicable policies, and any rights available to you under applicable consumer protection law.
Because Creem acts as Merchant of Record for purchases processed through its platform, refunds may be issued and administered by Creem.
If you need assistance with a payment or refund involving ReceiptKit, contact [email protected].
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
10. Taxes
For purchases processed through Creem, Creem, as Merchant of Record, is generally responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting applicable sales taxes, VAT, GST, or similar indirect transaction taxes as required for the transaction.
You remain responsible for any taxes or reporting obligations applicable to you personally or to your business arising from your use of ReceiptKit.
11. Changes to Pricing or Features
We may change ReceiptKit’s pricing, functionality, plan limits, or features from time to time.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide reasonable notice before a pricing change affecting an existing paid subscription takes effect.
We may also add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features as ReceiptKit evolves.
12. Intellectual Property
ReceiptKit and its software, design, branding, interfaces, documentation, logos, and other materials provided by us are owned by Tyler Pond or applicable licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms, no intellectual property rights are transferred to you.
The ReceiptKit name, logo, and associated branding may not be used without permission except as permitted by applicable law.
13. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback concerning ReceiptKit, you permit us to use that feedback without restriction or obligation to compensate you.
This does not give us ownership of your User Content.
14. Third-Party Services
ReceiptKit relies on third-party service providers to operate certain parts of the Service, including infrastructure, database, email, payment, networking, security, and related technical services.
These providers may include Cloudflare, Resend, Creem, and other providers we use from time to time.
Your use of certain third-party services may also be governed by the terms and privacy policies of those providers.
We are not responsible for services operated independently by third parties.
15. Service Availability
We aim to make ReceiptKit reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, technical problems, third-party outages, security concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service where reasonably necessary.
16. Beta, Preview, and Pre-Release Features
From time to time, ReceiptKit may make features available on a beta, preview, experimental, or pre-release basis.
These features may be incomplete, change without notice, contain errors, or be discontinued.
You should not rely on beta or pre-release features for critical business, financial, tax, legal, or recordkeeping purposes.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ReceiptKit is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that:
- the Service will always be available or error-free;
- receipt, document, or extracted information will always be accurate;
- the Service will meet every accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, or business requirement;
- defects will always be corrected; or
- data will never be lost.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tyler Pond, carrying on business as ReceiptKit, will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from or relating to your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability arising from or relating to ReceiptKit or these Terms will not exceed the total amount you paid for ReceiptKit during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
If you have not paid anything to use ReceiptKit, our total liability will not exceed CAD $100.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tyler Pond, carrying on business as ReceiptKit, from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- your unlawful use of the Service;
- your User Content;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your infringement of another person’s rights.
20. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using ReceiptKit at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- you materially violate these Terms;
- your use creates a security, fraud, legal, or operational risk;
- required fees remain unpaid;
- we are required to do so by law; or
- we discontinue the Service.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before terminating a paid account unless immediate action is reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of ReceiptKit or other users.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
Your continued use of ReceiptKit after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the courts of Ontario, Canada.
23. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
24. No Waiver
If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented when you purchase or use a particular ReceiptKit feature, constitute the agreement between you and us concerning your use of ReceiptKit.
